How do you do [?], what does Chi do, & what does it "is"?
Reiki. (ray-kee) n. - Pure conscious energy [or "Chi" (chee) n.], just another word for energy) flowing with loving-compassion through the hands to a warmth-feeling, thus attuned, recipient.
"I've gone to a yoga class though..." some may say, "...so what is so great about energy flowing? Isn't it just feeling nice and does feeling it make or break whether I get enlightenment or not? Also where's the hummus... I'm hungry"
Human hungers are vastly important and directly fuel the drive behind 99.99% of all life forms. But the question lingers. Why explore or even expound upon Reiki? I say it can help you find your path, whether or not you can feel the enlightening sensation, the connectedness to the purpose of all life forms continues with you right before your very eyes, once we are still enough I believe any "youthfully trained" mind can as well. Is it all that, this Reiki, and why, tell me why? Because it can help heal cancer, [I've seen it and felt it surge and change someone I still know from cancerous to zero-cancer-cell-count in only a few months] it can restitch and bring cathartic health out from inner mind-body disorder, it can make right within moments the aches of rigorous exercise or contact sports and sometimes with great focus, certain physical wounds within and without.
Studying martial arts of most all ancient backgrounds we learned that Chi is all around us, within us, connecting us from our innermost shifts to our furthest loved ones long gone to the being right before us, the never ending hoop that is the connection to integrity, time, peace and mind. Chi often named "Ener-Chi", as the sound of Energy sounds, is in our heart and soul as a beingness that has no actual word, no strict logic, knowing only non-binary truth of wholeness of the breathing organism of the 5 or more senses. In the most literal takeaway, Energy is the second yet primary primal animal within the human animal which the Energy body envelops our physical body, not visa versa, the soul stuck in the head somewhere, but rather vast and infinite with a finite physical body. We feel this once we let go of all over-stimulating physical sense of object, in favor of the meditative subtleties of presentness and intuition with the one before you, in the mirror, or in the seat in front of you.
Do we have to feel it for it to work? No. We do in our intuitive body-mind feel this energy on the subtle deep level, sometimes within lucid dreamful sleep or just before long-day-exhaustion deep rest. We can feel that deep soothing all throughout our body the more we can allow the letting go of object, and of the daily rush. Surely we all can, at minimum sense this energy - without naming it, by extending the heart through the hands into a tender muscle group or energetic area and sparking it with unadulterated compassion, a chakra (energy center, gland in Sanskrit) or bodymind memory needing that special self-sparked flare to ignite ~ routinely into sustainable cycles until homogeneous throughout the body & mind. The end goal ever changing, as the mind and body advances, is to become daily as full with homogeneity and phyisological integrity as sap within the great Giant Red Oak[s] ever wise in the greatest ability of all life forms, to sort each need not by order but by nearly infinite multidirectional integration. We human beings can do this with our hungers, thirsts, cravings, with the needs of each parallel branch, root, seedling and potential sapling in the forest that is this body-mind at once.
